Dollar's Demise Traces Roots to U.S. Tax Trap: Kevin Hassett Nov 16, 2009
This version of the Laffer curve is now fairly widely acknowledged. But what is less commonly understood is that our graduated income tax also probably has reached the point where higher rates raise little new revenue, at least given the political landscape. (Bloomberg -- Columnists)

As legend has it, the famous Laffer Curve was first drawn by economist Arthur Laffer in 1974 on a cocktail napkin at a small dinner meeting attended by the late Wall Street Journal editor Robert Bartley and such high-powered policymakers as Richard Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. Laffer is best known for advising President Ronald Reagan and bringing attention to what became known as the "Laffer curve," a concept that in certain situations government can increase tax revenues by cutting tax rates. The council said Laffer and co-authors Steve Moore and Jonathan Williams found that states with a high and rising tax burden are more likely to suffer through economic decline, while those with lower and falling tax burdens are more likely to enjoy economic growth. Kill the VAT Now and Forever Jun 29, 2009
A few years back, I saw Arthur Laffer give a speech to the California Republican Party where he whole-heartedly endorsed the VAT. If you are not familiar with him, Dr. Laffer is the creator of the Laffer curve and quite a brilliant man. He is also a wonderfully nice and personable man, especially noteworthy for an economist most of whom can be duller than the typical CPA.. (Townhall.com)

These hedonistic "hip hop" swine are destroying their own race, while black conservatives say next to nothing about this blight on their community-but instead rant about vouchers, and write arcane essays on taxes, the laffer curve, ad nauseum. Meanwhile, hip hop apologists like al sharpton, make excuses for these losers, and blame "society" for their lack of character and sorry upbringing by their sorry parents who are often as shiftless and immoral as their criminal offspring. Their productive capital will be depleted and growth impeded - the economy would be on the downside of the Laffer curve.
