County Historic Preservation grant awards made Jun 4, 2009
The county provides $4,000 funding to the commission, which selects the recipients based on a uniform distribution throughout the county. The Ainsworth Community Together received $500, which will be used to paint floors in the Opera House, and the Wellman Heritage received $400, which will be used to paint two small buildings at Heritage Park. The extended sodium tail is much stronger at high northern and southern latitudes, but magnesium shows a more uniform distribution. Messenger also detected relatively heavy ions in Mercurys ultrathin atmosphere. (SkyAndTelescope.com)
What is a Resting Potential? Apr 13, 2009
Normally, the process of diffusion ensures a uniform distribution of particles in a medium by moving ions from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration. The reason that the resting potential can exist is because cell membranes are impermeable and do not allow the flow of ions in and out of the cell except through ion-specific channels. (Suite101.com)
Kuhn rotary tedders Apr 11, 2009
The GF 6502 and GF 7702 feature small-diameter rotors that provide complete turnover and uniform distribution of the hay for unmatched drying speeds. Each rotor gearbox is sealed and lubed for life and is driven by Kuhn's patented Digidrive coupling system that eliminates rotor driveline maintenance. (Midwest Bulls Eye, NE)
New Images Of Marine Microbe Illuminate Carbon And Nitrogen Fixation Apr 9, 2009
When it came to nitrogen, the images were startling: one could see the fixed tagged nitrogen slowly enter the cell, and after a few hours pool into concentration "hotspots," then see these hotspots subside into a more uniform distribution. (Comparing these images to others suggested that the hotspots were storage organelles called cyanophycin. (Science Daily)
Machine Perfusion or Cold Storage in Deceased-Donor Kidney Transplantation Apr 2, 2009
The benefit of machine perfusion2 is probably that it ensures a uniform distribution of preservation fluid throughout the organ, which is better than a single flush. Perhaps this benefit can be illustrated best by our experience with a series of 38 poorly preserved kidneys obtained at our center from 19 donors after cardiac death, all of whom had undergone femoral cannulation and were Maastricht category II or III donors. Woody Biomass Utilization for Power Generation -- An Overview Feb 7, 2009
Uniform distribution over the world's surface, in contrast to finite sources of energy. Less capital-intensive conversion technologies employed for exploiting the energy potential. (Energy Pulse, CO)
